Vung Tau Beach – Vung Tau, Vietnam

After exploring Jesus’ mountain, we went back to our room to rest. In the late afternoon, we went out to the nearby beach called the Front Beach. My husband and friends already prepared extra clothes to swim, but I refused to do so for I did not like to have sticky body after swimming in the beach.

Front Beach is located between the Big and Small mountains. Restaurants, kiosks and hotels are located close to the beach. For this reason, it becomes a tourist center and many come here to view the sunset. No admission fee is required to enter the beach. However, tourists who swim at the beach are mostly foreigners because the Vietnamese do not like to do sunbathing under the blazing sun for their beauty standard is white skin so they try to avoid the sun as far as possible.

DSC_0807Along the beach shore are food vendors selling seafood and other Vietnamese snacks. Besides that, seats are available for rent. If you want to rent the chairs, be sure to agree on the price first before making the deal.

DSC_0813In the late afternoon, almost evening, there were quite a lot of Vietnamese swimming in the beach for they tried to avoid the afternoon sun.

DSC_0821We ordered some seafood and local snacks. I did not eat the seafood because I am not a seafood eater. I just tried the bean soup. It was delicious.

DSC_0834The beach over here is not very clean because there are many food vendors who throw litter on it.

DSC_0852In the evening, we had our dinner in a local restaurant in the city. We decided to try the famous Vietnamese noodle, Pho.

DSC_0880We also went to one of the cafes in the city. Vung Tau offers many conveniences of Ho Chi Minh City where cafes, hotels, and Western food chains could be found.

DSC_0885We were sitting on a bench at the back of the cafe. Hanging out in cafe is getting more and more popular among the locals.

DSC_0899One important tip for you if you want to visit Vung Tau: take really good care of your precious belongings for though pickpockets are not as common here as in Ho Chi Minh City, theft is becoming an increasing problem.

DSC_0900Look at the big ships. The beach is polluted because of the oil drilling business there.

It was almost 2 pm and we got ready to go home. Sitting on the bench in front of the beach while enjoying our ice cream, we were waiting for the van to pick us up. Finally it came and fetched us. Then, we took our journey back to Ho Chi Minh City.
